Alanis Morissette has quietly been plotting a huge 2015 for the 20th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill.

The 40-year-old will be releasing a full cover version of the album (featuring an unknown palate of artists), is prepping a Broadway version of the music, and has nearly completed a new memoir.

Recently, she discussed a myriad of topics with the Tillsonburg News. Before all the madness hits next year, Morissette is focused on finishing up an acoustic tour.

"It's much more vulnerable and intimate," she said. "I love the idea of being able to hear a pin drop in the middle of a song. There's so much more onus on the vocal performance because there's no way for me to hide behind anything."

Touring in itself is a tough job. But touring while also taking care of a three-year-old son is quite the accomplishment. Morissette said that while her kid is getting a small taste of show business, he won't get his chance at stardom for quite some time.

"I just wouldn't encourage him being in the entertainment industry very early," she said. "And how I distinguish when I believe is too early for a young person to be in the industry is when they're doing something fun and it segues into not being fun and they are six (laughs). That's not appropriate... that's actually abuse."

Morissette is Canadian, so it's only natural that a conversation about child stars would shift to Canada's most famous Gen-Y product, Justin Bieber.

"It's very difficult because when you're that age you're trying to define yourself, trying to find out who you are, what your values are and what you believe in," Morissette said. "You're supposed to be experimenting. It's a time when you're supposed to be trying on red, blue, yellow, green, you know? Seeing what works for you and finding out what integrity even means. All of this happening in the public eye while you're being hyper-judged, hyper-accessed... it's not the ideal environment to be cutting your teeth on. It's a very unusual circumstance to be famous, while you're in the early stage of development... I still have PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) from it."

It's safe to say that Morissette has overcome a lot of those issues to continue making strides in the music industry. We'll be hearing a lot from her next year, but fans can also catch a glimpse of her this summer and autumn at the following venues:
