Kirk Hammett of Metallica revealed the band's secret that left a strong impression on fans.

Metallica rose higher on charts again in the past months after its "Master of Puppets" got featured on "Stranger Things." But even before that break arrived, the band already possessed an unmatched image its fans love for years.

Speaking with The New Yorker, the band's guitarist revealed how Metallica made its image and music "not ideal for the faint of heart."

"Toxic masculinity has fuelled this band. I'm still sitting around saying, 'O.K., I'm gonna write a really, really tough, kick-ass riff.' Just look at my rhetoric there: tough, kick-ass riff. It's an aggression everyone feels, but it was ratcheted up in us-this weird masculine macho bulls- thing," Hammett said, 94.7 WCSX quoted.

He also explored the bandmates' relationships, saying that they would always get drunk before crazy things happen.

For instance, James Hetfield once got up and pushed Lars Ulrich, making him literally fly across the room. They also strengthen their bond by start wrestling against each other.

The band members can prove they are close enough by fixating on each other even when they are inside a room of people.

Lars Ulrich also shared the same sentiment in an interview on SiriusXM's "The Howard Stern Show" on Monday. He revealed that Hetfield, Hammett, and Trujillo are the brothers he never had.
