'The Price' has a melancholy, moody feel to it making it a moving track upon the first note. It endeavours to capture the conflicting feelings of wanting to be free, yet also not wanting to leave the prison created for the self, if only because of its deep sense of binding familiarity.

The backing vocals that are gradually introduced beautifully express this inner conflict. There is a softness to the production of the track accomplished by the guitar chords along with Niamh McKinney's soothing vocals. The listener will be lost in a moody hazy as they are pulled along on this journey.

It's a track about guilt, and how guilt can become a state you live in and become so accustomed to that you don't necessarily want to be free of it or to know anything different. Newness can be unnerving, and the thoughts of leaving behind an emotional state that now feels like home can be terrifying.
