The 2022 Variety Hitmakers' Brunch might be the biggest brunch this year and aside from pooling all chart-toppers together in one room, it sparked huge anticipation among fans of Selena Gomez and Dua Lipa.

Selena Gomez, who has recently had everyone crying their hearts out on her latest Apple TV documentary, "My Mind and Me," was present at the gathering. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa, who is recently focused on finishing her third studio album and highly-awaited sequel to "Future Nostalgia," was also there.

When asked by iHeart Media if she would be open to the possibility of a collaboration with Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa had this to say:

"I love Selena! If something came up, yeah, sure," she told the outlet.

Dua Lipa had been rocking her collaborations lately. Most recently, she had a collaboration with her dear friend music icon Elton John - "Cold Heart." She also captured the online world with her assistance on Megan Thee Stallion at "The Sweetest Pie."

Truly the hitmaker she is, Lipa was honored by Variety, along with Elton John with the Hitmaker of the Year Award; all thanks to their "Cold Heart" collaboration, a single from Elton John's critically acclaimed "The Lockdown Sessions" album.

Aside from getting Albanian citizenship recently, Lipa has just wrapped up her very successful "Future Nostalgia" tour. Now, Lipa is dead set and focused on releasing her next record, which she says is still in the pop genre, but sonically sounded different.

"Well, when I was speaking to Elton I really felt like I was halfway done," she confessed to Variety. "But it's taken a complete turn as I've carried on working, and I really feel now that it's starting to sound cohesive. So I'm going to keep writing in the early months of the new year and see where that takes me."

Elsewhere on the Variety Brunch, Selena Gomez just heard the news that Dua Lipa wanted to work with her, and her response sent everyone thrilled.

"Oh my god, where is she," Gomez asked. "I would love that too. I think she was such a breath of fresh air. I love how she kinda came and made it to the scene for dance to come back in a good way. I think that's powerful, I think she's beautiful."
