Selena Gomez is busy doing anything but making music, like filming TV shows, launching new Rare Beauty products, and producing a new documentary.

Most recent news about the ever-evolving singer reveals that she is slowly working her way back into the film industry, which has led many to speculate if she is retiring from music.

Discovery+ announced its newest upcoming documentary, "Won't Be Silenced," produced by Gomez and former Georgia Representative Stacey Abrams.

According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, the documentary will be about impactful music and the female artists behind the iconic songs, which seems to be quite fitting for the "Rare" singer

To give the documentary a little twist, the documentary will take on a specific but significant angle on the role of music and female artists.

"The powerful women we will be highlighting are not only talented but have been on the frontline of pushing culture forward and holding a mirror up to political and social injustices," Gomez said in a statement about the documentary.

Abrams reinforced the role of women in making music, activism, and politics. "Throughout history, women in music have used their art as activism by bringing attention to issues impacting our nation and world.

"'Won't Be Silent' is a celebration of the artists who have contributed to bettering the world through their timeless music."

As of this writing, reports say there is no word which songs will be included in the documentary.

Discovery+ also had some nice things to say about the "Kill Them With Kindness" singer, "We admire how passionately Selena uses her enormous platform to speak out on issues affecting her generation and Stacey's tireless pursuit of change."

Gomez's role in producing the documentary might have something to do with her numerous work in charities, like speaking up about mental illness, as Discovery+ explained how music is integral in "galvanizing parts of the human expertise."

Gomez added, "The film is a love letter to the women in music who have used their voices to change the course of history with their art and activism."

This is Gomez's second documentary, with the first one being about the singer herself, entitled "My Mind & Me."

Just like this one, it explored complex emotions that happen behind the scenes to an artist.

However, Gomez's recent number of projects outside of music has caused fans to wonder if this will be the singer's new direction.

The "Lose You to Love Me" singer began acting before pursuing a music career. However, since then, she has dabbled in several other projects like launching her make-up brand, Rare Beauty, and producing a cooking series, "Selena + Chef."
