Hailed as the Queen of Country Pop, Shania Twain is one of the most celebrated female artists in the music community.

That is why it came as a shock to many when she publicly revealed that she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease at the height of his career.

In 2004, Twain admitted that she was diagnosed with a disastrous illness and a possibly career-altering dysphonia or hoarse voice.

Speaking to People Magazine recently, the "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" shared her doubts when she was recovering from a major surgery in 2018.

"I may not be able to [sing] forever," she confessed, referring to the concerns she had after her open-throat surgery at the time. "But right now I'm just enjoying where I am."

In the past, Twain has opened up about her grueling journey with the disease. In her documentary, "Shania Twain: Not Just A Girl," she revealed that she got infected in 2003 while horseback riding.

"The tick was infected with Lyme's Disease, and I did get Lyme's Disease, and my symptoms were quite scary," Shania confessed.

Twain's doctors diagnosed her with Lyme Disease the year after, which they believed to have badly affected her vocal cords. She even had therapy to learn how to sing again, and eventually, the risky surgery.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the tick bite, if left untreated, can affect the joints, heart, and nervous system.

But against all odds, thankfully, Twain has recovered from the illness and is still going strong. Recently, Twain starred with Josh Groban, H.E.R., and Martin Short, among many others on "Beauty and The Beast Live!" as Mrs. Potts.

Speaking to Rolling Stone recently, Twain seemed to be overflowing with positive emotions on her comeback to music.

"It's like a renaissance period for me. To be experiencing it as a relevant artist still, that's rewarding," Twain said. "I feel a renewed confidence. I don't have anything to prove anymore, and I feel freedom in that."

For Twain, she is grateful that after all these years in the industry, she has remained one of the biggest stars in music, "almost in a bigger way," actually.

Asked what she thought of the upcoming Shania Twain new album, the "You're Still The One" hitmaker had this to say:

"A lot of it was written during the pandemic. There's nothing better for me than to not have enough to do, because the first thing I do is pick up my guitar and start songwriting. Now I've got four albums' worth. I'm not kidding."
