Whitney Houston and Elvis Presley only met once, but the female singer said it led them to have a special family connection.

With the release of the biopic "Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody," Houston's relationship with other artists also took over the spotlight. Among those connections, fans particularly looked back at the time she and Presley met.

For what it's worth, the "Saving All My Love for You" hitmaker opened up about her first and only meeting with the King of Rock and Roll.

Houston was reportedly only six when she met Presley. At that time, her mother had been singing with the singer.

"You don't really meet - you actually just look at Elvis," she said, according to Express. "My mother sang with Elvis for years. She and her group, they were called the Sweet Inspirations. They also sang for Aretha (Franklin) for many years."

She recalled feeling amazing because of Presley's presence. Although they did not talk at that time, she called it one of the most unforgettable moments in her childhood.

Houston died on Feb. 11, 2012, after being found unconscious and submerged in Beverly Hilton Suite 434's bathtub. The Los Angeles County coroner revealed that she died of accidental drowning and suffered "effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use." Her toxicology tests detected marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril, and Benadryl. But these reportedly did not contribute to her death.

Meanwhile, Presley passed away on Aug. 16, 1977, at his Memphis mansion, Graceland. He was also found unconscious inside the bathroom but later died at a medical facility. It was later ruled that he died of heart failure caused by his drug abuse in the years leading to his death.

Whitney Houston Attempted To Quit Drugs Before Her Death

Following the release of her biopic, Houston's attempts to quit drugs also emerged.

Record producer Clive Davis recently told Page Six he was shocked when the singer died in 2012. He recalled meeting her two days before her passing. At that time, the singer reportedly told him she was working on getting sober already.

"She was showing me what she had done in rehab," he said. "How she had given up smoking, how she had cleared her throat of nicotine. And she was wanting to start going to the studio."

The 90-year-old music icon called it a "valiant attempt" as Houston wanted to do it but died forty-eight hours later.

Davis and Houston started working when she was 20 years old after the music maven signed her.
