Coldplay announced a special Los Angeles show that will be streamed live on Sept. 17.

The event comes courtesy of CBS Radio and Beats Music, and will also be powered by Radio.com. When Chris Martin and Co. hit the stage at Ace Hotel in downtown L.A., the whole performance will be broadcast on CBS Radio stations around the country. Fans will also be able to listen with a Radio.com application that's compatible with a variety of mobile devices.

Radio.com reports that the show will feature music from the band's entire discography, which isn't much of a shock. The Brit band often turn back the clock during shows to play the hits that made them superstars at the turn of the millennium.

The band's latest album, Ghost Stories, came out this May, but they're already looking forward to new music.

Last week, frontman Martin sat down with Fresh 102.7 to discuss a possible collaboration with Rihanna, who was featured on 2012 single "Princess of China," off Mylo Xyloto.

"I love being in the studio with Rihanna," Martin said. "I wasn't necessarily 'with,' I was working for her. I don't think she even asked, I just said, 'Please, can I try something?'"

Martin said that the competition to do a song with Rihanna has amped up considerably, and compared it to "winning American Idol." Asked if Rihanna will be on the band's next record, Martin could not confirm 100 percent.

"I hope so," he said. "I have a really nice song."

Ghost Stories featured a shift in tone. Avicii-produced single "A Sky Full of Stars" had traces of EDM, and Martin said he's embracing different styles of music as the band prepares to record its seventh studio album.

"We're just having a lot of fun with music," Martin said. "I don't worry about the categories anymore, where we're supposed to fit. It doesn't really matter. To not do a song like ("A Sky Full of Stars") would be to deny part of me that, I really, I love that kind of music."
