Nothing makes for a more obvious adaptation to musical than a famous music performer's life, hence why we shouldn't be surprised to see Broadway working to create a stage play based on the lives-thus-far of Cuban-American performer Gloria Estefan and her husband, entrepreneur Emilio Estefan. On Your Feet! is scheduled to play preview shows during July of 2015.

The musical will follow the pair from their lives in Cuba to their live in Miami and the tremendous success experienced there. Gloria has gone on to sell more than $100 million records and Emilio—a part owner in the Miami Dolphins—has helped launch the careers of other Latin American music stars including Shakira, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin

Primary casting calls will be held at Pearl Studios in New York and Knight Concert Hall in Miami, but producers are opening the casting call to the internet, allowing potential performers to send in videos of themselves performing with the hashtag "#ReachGloria." Probably a smart move on the Estefans part to hold casting in Miami, as you know the Great White Way would otherwise be satisfied drawing from New York City's acting pool.

"Finding the right performers to tell our story on the Broadway stage is the most important step in this project," Gloria said. "Our own journey together started in Miami, a city that has been such an inspiration to us both, and it only felt right that the city be a cornerstone of our search for the next generation of bright talent."

The play will be directed by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell
