Bad Bunny has had the biggest year of his career so far in 2022, but not all things about his popularity is positive as he was recently criticized for how he treated a fan who wanted to take a photo with him; what happened?

In a video posted by Pop Crave, the 28-year-old rapper can be seen walking down the streets of the Dominican Republic while many fans swarmed around him to get a closer look and meet him in person.

It appears that his supporters are mimicking his style as many of them wore white bandanas which was similar to what he was wearing as he walked around with his bodyguards.

At one point, one fan got too close to the Puerto Rican singer, leading him to snatch her phone and throw it away.

The rapper received mixed reactions on social media, with some people defending him, while others don't find his attitude amusing.

"i like him but this was very unfortunate. imagine if the girl is poor and can't afford a new phone? he didn't even ask her to give him some space before taking the phone from her hand," one fan, who appeared to be disappointed, wrote.

"a rich person having no regard for the property of the working class. are we shocked?" another one agreed.

However, there were also others who defended him by saying the fan was out of line for getting too close and have invaded his personal space.

Bad Bunny Finally Speaks Out

Just hours after the video went viral, the musician finally addressed the issue in a tweet that received hundreds of thousands of likes instantly.

Defending his side, Bad Bunny said those fans who wanted to say hello, tell him something, or just wanted to meet him will always have his "attention and respect." (translated from Spanish to English)

However, if fans were to put a phone on his face, he will "consider it for what it is, a lack of respect and I will treat it likewise."

The tweet amassed 3.7 million views, 107.6k likes, and thousands of retweets as of this writing.

In other updates, the recent post comes a few days after Bad Bunny's song "Yonaguni" surpassed 1.1 billion streams on the music streaming platform Spotify. The track became his most streamed solo song.
