Are SZA and Taylor Swift beefing?

Fans have been speculating that the two are engaged in a silent and subtle fight as their albums are fighting it out on the Billboard 200 Albums chart No. 1.

SZA's recent album, "SOS," has been ruling the Billboard 200 albums charts since its release last December. It kept Taylor Swift's "Midnights," from bouncing back to No. 1, where it ruled for a number of weeks until it was lynched by Drake and 21 Savage's "Her Loss."

According to the Hits Daily Double Top 20 Albums Projection for the January 2023 debut week, right now, "SOS" is neck to neck with "Midnights." With the edge of 2,000 album units, SZA is maintaining the lead.

However, things might change in the coming days as the two of them have amped up their games.

Swift has released four digital albums, "#BehindTheSong," a sneak peek at how she wrote "Anti-Hero," "Bejeweled," "Karma," and "Mastermind" in four limited editions, newly covered digital albums.

Meanwhile, SZA also dropped the much-awaited "PSA," and her solo version of "Open Arms," with her original third verse.

Because of this, netizens have pointed out that the two of them had been battling to score for the top spot, launching a battle between the two female singers' fans on who gets to be the top.

However, SZA took the time to squash the now-growing issue as some people are speculating that she is beefing with Taylor Swift for the No. 1 spot.

"Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that . I don't have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing! Everyone's jus tryna do their BEST as we all should . LOVE TO EVERYONE. Gn," she said in a statement.

According to Uproxx, SZA even had to point out that her album isn't just all about sad songs, heartbreak, or revenge.

"Ignoring songs like 'SOS,' 'PSA,' 'Conceited,' 'Low,' 'Forgiveless,' 'Seek N Destroy,' 'Notice Me,' or 'Ex Pack,' to pretend I only make sad girl music is dumb," she said, even adding "Good Days."

"SOS" received generally positive reviews from critics, with music publications rating the album a five out of five.
