Did Shakira really get cheated on?
It was just suspected that the retired athlete had an affair with the Queen of Latin Music, but it now appears that their breakup was influenced by infidelity.
Shakira was allegedly "devastated" when fans saw her ex's new lover in a Zoom interview he conducted from home in 2021, according to a source who talked to Page Six.
She and Gerard were meant to be "happily together" at the time it was supposedly shot in the house he shared with the "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker.
Shakira is "devastated to find that this woman obviously felt at home in the house they shared with their children," the insider claimed.
The "Waka Waka" hitmaker was traveling at the time with her two children, whom she also shared with Gerard when he recorded the online interview.
The same source stated that the couple at the time was still married at the time.
She is devastated to discover that the affair has lasted far longer than she had anticipated.

After dating for 11 years, Shakira and Gerard Pique confirmed their separation in 2022. After eight years of living together in Barcelona, Shakira and the two kids are returning to Miami as a result of their divorce.
The former couple, who were never wed, apparently reached a fair agreement for their children's sake as well.
Both were even seen leaving and entering the courthouse at the time, their attorneys being accompanied by the media.
The "Underneath Your Clothes" singer called her split "very tough" in an interview with Elle from last year.
The singer went on to say, "It's hard to talk about it, especially because I'm still going through it, and because I'm in the public eye, and because our separation is not like a regular separation."
And despite the passing of another year, it appears that Shakira is still thinking about their divorce because of a cryptic remark she shared on social media.
"Even if our wounds are still open in this new year, time has a surgeon's hands. Even if someone's betrayed us, we must continue to trust others."
While all was going on, Gerard was enjoying the holidays with Clara Chia, his new girlfriend, and were always on the go.
They were seen cuddling up to one other outside the Marriott Hotel, enjoying their holiday with the footballer's brother Marc and his wife Maria Valls, according to Hola.
