As previously reported, a blimp decorated in the Aphex Twin logo appeared flying over London this weekend. Later on, reports of the logo spotted stenciled on the streets of Manhattan appeared on Instagram. Fans assumed that the ever-mysterious Richard D. James was trying to send a message with the blimp, and now a report from Stereogum suggests that it was a new album he was likely promoting.

Earlier today, Aphex Twin tweeted a strange link ending in ".onion." As Stereogum notes, that domain is "typically associated with the TOR proxy-browser and generally used when accessing the Deep Web."

Once the site has been accessed, Stereogum notes, a text document reveals what looks like the album's title, SYRO, as well as a 12-song tracklist. Stereogum suggests that the numbers next to the possible song titles indicate BPM. Also included is the artwork above, which features the Aphex Twin logo.

Earlier this year, a Kickstarter campaign was launched where fans pooled money together to collectively own a copy of Caustic Window, a rare 1994 Aphex Twin album that never went beyond test pressing. The contributors all received a digital copy of the rare album, and the physical copy was sold at an action for $45,072 (£27,000).

If SYRO is in fact a new album, it will be Aphex Twin's first since 2001's Druqks.
