BLACKPINK is one of South Korea's biggest K-POP girl groups, alongside Twice, Red Velvet, Girls Generation, and more, but the four-membered group definitely has got an edge over the others.

They are rumored to be among this year's Coachella headliners, with other rumored headliners like Bad Bunny, Travis Scott, Paramore, Tyler the Creator, Hot Red Chili Peppers, Dua Lipa, and more.

As of this writing, the only artist confirmed to headline the highly anticipated and well-attended music festival is Frank Ocean.

But let's look a little closer at BLACKPINK's current world tour schedule, and see if it lines up with Coachella's multi-day event, which is slated to begin on Apr. 14.

History

BLACKPINK has a massive fanbase who are referred to as Blinks, and they are hopeful that the group will be confirmed to headline Coachella, after all, if they do, they will be the very first K-POP act to do so.

That is why Blinks are invested in finding out whether the rumors about the girls' participation in the music festival hold water.

According to several reports, ironically, despite their booked and busy schedule, there's a significant gap in their world tour schedule in April.

Coachella festivities happen in the middle of April, while BLACKPINK is on the Asian leg of their world tour, although Indio, California-where Coachella 2023 will take place-is a ways away from Asia.

In April, they will be performing in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Kaohsiung, and Manila (Bulacan), Style Caster reported.

On top of their busy tour schedule, Blinks are positively going crazy over the idea that all four members would have launched their solo careers by the time the music festival rolls around, and the girls could perform some of their solo hits.

The chances of Coachella inviting BLACKPINK to headline aren't too far-fetched, because they are, after all, not only one of the biggest girl groups in K-POP, but also one of the biggest girl groups in the world.

According to reports, TIME magazine named the South Korean act Entertainer of the Year in 2022, becoming the first-ever girl group to receive that honor.

Since their debut in 2016, they have consistently proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, releasing hit after hit, and performing sold-out shows in every city they visit.
