Amy Grant's road to recovery is a long one, but it's a little more bearable for her-especially since her husband, Vince Gill will be with her every step of the way.

"The biggest thing was in the two months after the wreck, it was really depressing," Grant shared in an interview with People magazine. "Everything canceled, and I just said, 'What if I'm never all the way back?'"

The 62-year-old singer got into a devastating and life-threatening accident back in July 2022, which resulted in her having to cancel all her upcoming shows and projects.

It seemed like her life was literally put on hold and she clearly took the incident hard, especially since the accident left her to recover for a minimum of 12 months, reports say.

"And he said, 'Things happen to people every day, and you just have to take one day at a time, and we're here, and I love you,'" she continued, referring to her husband, Vince Gill, who was by her side since day one.

"And that just kind of made every day of the journey okay. And I do feel fantastic."

The Grammy Award winner had to undergo also noted that the lasting effects of the accident are something that she grapples with, especially the "memory issues."

"Well, they said a 12 to 18-month recovery for a head injury and so every once in a while, I'll be talking to somebody, and they'll say something that I guess I used to know, and I'll gasp, and go, 'Are you kidding me?!'"

Despite the tough terrain she has to conquer to get back to her successful music career she had to set aside in favor of her health, she notes that she still remains positive.

"But I'm telling you," she then added. "I'm glad for every day."

According to reports, Grant's accident was caused by a pothole she encountered in Nashville.

Fortunately, she was wearing a helmet, and that managed to protect her from more injuries.

The bike accident that happened caused the singer to go through an open-heart surgery to correct a rare condition, PAPVR or partial anomalous pulmonary venous return. The disease was discovered during a routine checkup.

It seems like fans would have to wait a little longer to catch a glimpse of the singer.

Grant is a multi-awarded and celebrated singer who is best known for singing contemporary Christian music and pop music. She was called the "Queen of Christian pop."
