The real cause of death of Leslie Jordan has finally been revealed by the Los Angeles County coroner's office after months of investigation.

The "Will & Grace" star was found dead at 67 years old last October 2022. Initial assessment by authorities at the time suggests that he died due to natural causes before the actual accident took place.

According to KTLA, the comedian crashed his car around 9:30 am local time following what seemed to be a medical emergency. The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that Jordan had a medical appointment with his cardiologist hours before the fatal car crash.

Jordan reportedly suffered discomfort and shortness of breath weeks before the actual accident.

Now, after the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has concluded its investigation - it just confirmed that it was actually not the car crash that killed the actor.

Leslie Jordan's real cause of death is actually sudden cardiac dysfunction due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Arteriosclerosis takes place when the blood vessels that carry oxygen and other nutrients from the heart to the other parts of the body become thick and stiff - which restricts blood flow to the organs.

Meanwhile, the coroner confirms that an autopsy revealed that he did not suffer any life-threatening trauma - which means that Leslie Jordan's cause of death was natural.

Per Billboard, Jordan had been free from alcohol for over twenty years before his death last October 2022. Toxicology reports did not also find any trace of alcohol or drugs in his system.

At the time of his death, Jordan had been suffering major cardiovascular issues, with some of his arteries found to have been 80% and 50% blocked.

Leslie Jordan's death has left a void on the entertainment scene after his death. On Feb. 19, 2023, a special tribute titled "Reportin' for Duty: A Tribute to Leslie Jordan," will be held at the Grand Ole Opry.

Artists like Eddie Vedder, Brothers Osbourne, Lukas Nelson, Maren Morris, Jim Parsons, Margaret Cho, Robyn Schall, and Billy Strings, among many others, will be present on the show.
