Many fans became nostalgic as some of the legendary singers of the 80s including Dolly Parton, Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, and Belinda Carlisle teamed up with Diane Warren for a new song; however, not everyone was pleased with the music video.

According to Live For Live Music, the musicians collaborated on the song "Gonna Be You," the official soundtrack of the upcoming film, "80 For Brady" produced by Paramount Pictures.

Written by Warren and produced by Damon Elliott, the song was accompanied by a music video directed by award-winning director Alex Ogus.

All singers were present in the video and they wore matching bedazzled football jerseys inspired by Tom Brady.

Immediately after the new track made rounds online, many critics expressed their disappointment, especially with the music video, with one user writing, "Just an awful idea to make this crap."

"This s*** is depressing," one wrote, "Dumb movie dumb song dumb broads," another one chimed in.

As of this writing, none of the singers mentioned above has publicly reacted to the negative comments they received from online users.

Diane Warren on Writing 'Gonna Be You'

In a previous statement, the award-winning songwriter recalled that she wanted to write a track to celebrate the movie's characters' deep friendship.

Since the film has the number "80" in its title, she immediately thought of reaching out to iconic singers from the 80s and all of them said yes to the project.

"'I'm honored to have Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Debbie Harry on this song!! 'Gonna Be You' is that song you want to sing along to with all your good friends!!!" she added.

On the other hand, Parton also issued a statement, saying it's nice and exciting to work with her older pals who star in the movie as well as the other singers in the collaboration.

"I love feeling like I'm still part of something great and being with those gals that we know are great was a thrill," she added.

"Gonna Be You" is now available for streaming on major music platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. The official music video can be viewed on Paramount Pictures' official YouTube channel.

"80 For Brady" cast members include Rita Moreno, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, and many more. The film will hit theaters on February 3, 2023.
