According to Billboard, the "Only Murders in the Building" actress was photographed holding hands with the 1/2 of the Chainsmokers over the weekend even though she already shut down rumors about their real score.

People Magazine reported that both musicians, who wore casual outfits, were with a group of friends at The Gutter in New York City.

After the photos quickly went viral, many fans expressed their dismay about the alleged couple's relationship, with one user writing, "She said I'm single , I'm shocked."

"BR definitely there's no way she like that dude," another user wrote.

However, not all fans believe that their relationship is genuine as some of them noted that it could be a publicity stunt that is meant to promote Selena Gomez's yet-to-be-announced album.

"I love selena but the album is coming and the PR is started !. ...its just promos" one wrote.

Another one suggested that the outing was meant to shade the media, "I love that Selena is teasing media, we all know they're just friends she's just playing with the media coz they're so obsessed with her life."

The recent news comes after the pop star seemingly responded to recent dating rumors by taking to her official Instagram account by sharing a photo in a since-deleted post.

In the caption, the "Wizard's of Waverly Place" star wrote, "I like being alone too much," along with "#iamsingle" at the bottom.

Regarding their previous relationships, Drew Taggart was linked to Steve Job's daughter, Eve. Prior to that, he was reportedly in a relationship with model and musician DJ Chantel Jeffries for over a year. (via UsWeekly Magazine)
