The new Michael Jackson actor for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic has been officially cast, and it's going to be his nephew Jaafar Jackson!
Earlier this year, Lionsgate picked up Antoine Fuqua to direct the highly-awaited Michael Jackson biopic titled "Michael." Fuqua has helmed a lot of critically-acclaimed films before, like "King Arthur," "Shooter," "Olympus Has Fallen," "Brooklyn's Finest," "Southpaw," "The Equalizer," "Tears of the Sun, "Emancipation," "The Magnificent Seven," and "Infinite," among many others."
According to Variety, the film is expected to depict the "complicated" legacy of the King of Pop. Similar to "Elvis" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "Michael," will touch on some of the most iconic performances of Jackson, which eventually sealed him to become the greatest entertainer of all time.
However, the publication noted that the Michael Jackson biopic would be created with the help of the Michael Jackson estate - which would presumably directly influence how the depiction of the child sexual abuse allegations would be carried out or played out in the film.
While it would seem like a search or auditions for the Michael Jackson biopic actor would be logical to get the best actor to portray the king, director Antoine Fuqua seemed to have checked that box already.
In his most recent Instagram post, Fuqua shocked everyone with his announcement of the Michael Jackson biopic actor, Jaafar Jackson.

Who is Jaafar Jackson?
Fuqua doesn't actually have to look away from home as there has already been someone who can brilliantly portray the King of Pop - his nephew, Jaafar Jackson.
Jaafar took to Instagram to share the incredible news after Fuqua did:
"I'm humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael's story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I'll see you soon," he said in a post while posting a monochromatic photo of him in the studio.
For those who don't know, Jaafar Jackson is the nephew of Michael Jackson. He is the son of Michael's older brother, Jermaine Jackson. Born in 1996, the 26-year-old singer and performer proved in 2019 that the Jackson blood is still running on the newer generation as he released his single, "Got me Singing."
Per his IMDB profile, Jaafar Jackson, the new Michael Jackson biopic actor, started his musical career at the young age of 12 years old at playing the piano, seemingly the same age as his uncle.
According to Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother, Jaafar Jackson embodies the King of Pop.
"It's so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
As of this writing, further details about the Michael Jackson biopic, "Michael," have not yet been disclosed to the public other than the major casting.
