Ashton Kutcher has openly apologized to singer Harry Styles for their highly unpleasant encounter at a friend's party. The 44-year-old actor admitted that he did not recognize the former One Direction singer when they first met, which led to him making humiliating statements.

In an interview with Esquire, Kutcher confessed that he and his actress wife Mila Kunis were at their neighbor's extravagant party when the awkward encounter occurred.

He explained that he felt impelled to complement a partygoer's karaoke performance of ABBA after being awestruck by the performance.

As it turned out, the performer was Styles, age 29, and Kutcher was unaware.

The actor complimented the singer and after the singer's humble response, Kutcher went on to his friends.

To Kutcher's horror, his friend informed him that it was a famous singer.

Mila Kunis had to explain that Styles was a well-known musician and a former member of the boy band One Direction.

He felt like a jerk, Kutcher recounted.

He then issued a public apology via the magazine, stating that he sincerely apologize to Harry Styles.

This news follows Styles' official addition to the increasing list of performers for the 2023 Grammy Awards, scheduled on February 5. His record-breaking album Harry's House, which was released in May 2022, has been nominated for an astounding six prizes. Harry's House is the former member of One Direction's third solo studio album following the group's "permanent break" in August 2015.

The "Don't Worry Darling" actor had the second-largest album debut week of 2022, after Taylor Swift's Midnights. Additionally, four tracks from the album charted on the US Billboard Hot 100, making him the first British solo artist to accomplish this feat. "As It Was" topped the Billboard charts for 15 straight weeks, becoming the longest-running US number one by a British act and the fourth-longest number-one in the history of the list.

Meanwhile, Harry Styles celebrated his 29th birthday on Wednesday, February 1st, with the final North American performance of his Love on Tour. The "Late Night Talking" hero grabbed the stage at Greater Palm Springs's newest arena, Acrisure Arena, to celebrate his next year of life with 11,000 of his fortunate admirers. The event had numerous birthday-themed moments, including the audience singing "Happy Birthday." While Styles initially attempted to jokingly hush his followers, he eventually gave in and is shown smiling broadly on recordings taken and released to Twitter.
