Hip-hop is finally coming to the Sunset Strip Music Festival. According to HipHopDXMurs recently announced that DJ Quik and Joey Fatts will be among the artists performing at the Sunset Strip Music Festival this year.

The "Remember 2 Forget" rapper revealed to the site that he will curate a stage at the festival, which is scheduled to take place September 20 and 21 in West Hollywood, California.

"I never pass up an opportunity to help Hip Hop in LA progress," Murs said. "This is huge for us because if you're from Black and Latino culture especially, we'll come from East LA, we'll come from South LA, from mid-city to cruise Sunset and the police are telling us, 'No.'"

This year's festival and Murs participation is a big moment in hip-hop history. The festival, which is in its sixth year, will be having its first hip-hop stage thanks to Murs. DJ Quik is among the acts slated to perform at the Sunset Strip Music Festival.

"He is it for LA rap," Murs says of Quik. "It wouldn't be right to have this big step without having him."

Aston Matthews will also perform at the festival.

Back in April, Murs announced the cancellation of this year's Paid Dues Music Festival.

"I regretfully announce Paid Dues will not happen this year," he said in a statement. "2013 was financially challenging for my partners at Guerrilla Union and as a direct result of these unfortunate circumstances we were not able to come together to give you another successful Paid Dues Festival."

Murs plans to celebrate the Paid Dues Festival's 10th anniversary next year.

"Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to celebrating Paid Dues 10 Year anniversary with you next spring. Stay tuned."
