What was Cody Longo's cause of death?

The "Days of Our Lives" actor shocked the industry when news about his untimely death emerged. Longo's representative, Alex Gittelson, told CNN he was found dead at his Austin, Texas, home on Wednesday.

He was 34.

Nearly a week after his passing, police unveiled new details surrounding Cody Longo's death.

The Austin Police Department revealed to People that no foul play was involved in the actor-musician's passing. His toxicology and autopsy reports are still pending, making Cody Longo's cause of death remain unavailable as of press time.

Meanwhile, homicide detectives have since concluded his passing as "non-suspicious."

The new update came after his representative released a statement penned by his wife, Stephanie Longo.

"Cody was our whole world," Stephanie said. "The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated. He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you."

Meanwhile, his representative called the late actor a "loyal, loving, and talented person." At the time of his death, Longo left his acting career to start focusing on his musical endeavors.

Congo was found dead after his wife called the police as she could not reach him while she was working at a local dance studio. When they arrived at their home, they tried to call him, but he did not answer. It prompted the police to kick the door and check on him.

They then found him dead in bed.

Cody Longo's Cause of Death Alcohol-Related?

While waiting for the test results, a news outlet received a message from a family member who revealed that Congo struggled with alcohol abuse for years before his passing.

This summer, the actor-musician reportedly went to a rehabilitation facility again.

Although Cody Longo's cause of death remains unknown as of the writing, his family believes his alcohol addiction was likely what killed him. They also think he relapsed recently.
