Olivia Rodrigo was raised by her school teacher mother and a family therapist father. Growing up, the musician was immersed in Filipino culture as her dad is a Filipino-American.

Regarding her music background, it appears that harmony and rhythm have been an innate talent for Rodrigo since she started taking piano lessons at the age of six.

She later expanded her skills by attending vocal lessons, acting, and singing classes. Despite being born in a recent generation, the "deja vu" songstress grew up listening to Pearl Jam, Green Day, No Doubt, and more, as her parents were fans of them.
