Drake has been taking the world by storm over the past years as he's consistently going up the charts, selling millions of copies of his album, and having billions of streams from music platforms. Despite his success, it appears that the rapper is planning to retire soon as he hinted in an interview.
According to Hip-Hop DX, the "In Your Feelings " hitmaker recently appeared in an interview with Lil Yachty on "A Moody Conversation" where the rappers sat down in a beach-themed setting.
In a teaser clip, the singer said he's at the point of his life where he wanted to introduce the concept of a "graceful exit."
"I think I'm at the point now where I just wanna like - I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day. I feel like I'm kinda introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit," the Grammy Award-winning artist told Lil Yachty.
Per the outlet, Drake previously mentioned that he wanted to retire by the time he's 35. However, the musician is now 36 and it appears that he's not stopping anytime soon.
Speaking to Nicki Minaj's "Queen Radio" last year, the rapper is contemplating on whether he'll retire or not as he loves the feeling of finishing a project and he was not at a point where he considers retirement an option.
"One of the best feelings I have in my life is completing a song or project. And by the way, those things are painful as well. A lot of nerves, a lot of confidence wavering," the hip-hop star said.
Despite describing the feeling as "painful," it appears the rapper has found his rhythm as he reached a "new level of comfortability" where he wanted to try things he never did in the past, citing his new album.
For fans who wanted to watch Drake's full interview with Lil Yachty, the video will come out on Friday, February 24, as a promotion for Lil Boat's new sunglasses company called Future Mood.
It's unclear when Drake will officially retire from the business as he's very active in and outside of music. Last year, fans rejoiced as the rapper released two albums, "Honestly, Nevermind," and his 21 Savage collaboration project "Her Loss" which dominated the Billboard charts.
