Beatport has been selling music to the electronic dance community for ten years now and has kept track of all of its numbers in the process. The outlet, owned by SFX Entertainment, also holds perhaps the most revered charts within electronic music. Now, to mark its tenth year of existence, the site has compiled its Top 10's for best selling performers and most downloaded tracks of the last decade.

To give the briefest of summaries, Deadmau5 topped all of the major categories. His remix of "Community Funk," a Borufunk & Carbon Community track, is the best-selling track in Beatport history, he's had the most no. 1's over the last ten years (13), and that all adds up to him being the bestselling performer in Beatport history. Thus far 2014 has been the first year in five that Deadmau5 isn't the top-selling artist: Martin Garrix holds the title currently, largely thanks to his "Animals."

An interesting point brought up by Dancing Astronaut: Only five of the best-selling performers of the last ten years are also in Forbes' recently published list of the highest earning DJ's in the world (Dancing Astronaut miscounted and listed four, but we've got their backs). This indicates that some performers, including $66 million man Calvin Harris clearly have more of the general public at their backs than strictly electronic music fans. Deadmau5 for his part only came in at no. 10 for money earned.
