Blake Shelton's "The Voice" departure announcement has saddened longtime fans of the reality singing competition because of an expected shift in show dynamics once he leaves.

Shelton was one of the four original coaches of "The Voice" when the show aired in 2011. Along with Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green, Shelton, the four coaches created what now is the biggest music reality singing competition on television.

Shelton's banter with Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and even her own wife, Gwen Stefani, and newbie judges has already become a part of the country's television habits in the past few years.

With Season 23 starting, Shelton is already gearing up her one last final season by telling everyone that it was her dear friend and fellow coach, Kelly Clarkson, that got him fired from "The Voice."

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, the "Nobody But You" hitmaker jokingly unleashed a "scathing" revelation, not just about his employment but also his employer.

"Kelly [Clarkson] finally got me fired. I wanted to announce that here," Shelton revealed. "NBC stands for Nothing But Clarkson!"

Clarkson, who is returning to "The Voice" Season 23 as a coach on Shelton's last season coaching, has her own talk show on NBC, the same network where "The Voice" is broadcasted.

"The Kelly Clarkson Show" has been one of the network's top shows - earning a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for three consecutive years since 2020 and being hailed as the Daytime Emmy Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show since 2021.

Kidding aside, Kimmel got candid on The Today Show with "The Voice" host Carson Daly on what he thought to be the breaking point of his "The Voice" stint.

"I think I was close to calling it a day right when COVID hit," he admitted. "And then, because of COVID, I didn't want to walk away from the show and leave everybody in a bind. I mean, this show changed my life. I'll stay here until the world kind of gets back to normal again."

Shelton will be sitting on his rotating chair for the last time this season with returning judge Kelly Clarkson. Former One Direction member Niall Horan and hip-hop megastar Chance The Rapper will also be coming in as new judges.

Country music icon Reba McEntire will also be joining the cast as a mega mentor for the contestants.
