Riley Keough revealed she had to lie about her singing skills when she auditioned for "Daisy Jones & the Six."

Keough survived the audition process and was ultimately selected to play Daisy Jones' role in the Prime Video series, "Daisy Jones & the Six." The character is a fictional lead member of a fictional 1970s rock group.

The character needs an actress who can sing, but Keough reportedly exaggerated her musical experience during the audition instead.

On Monday, she appeared during the series' screening at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, according to People. During a panel, the actress admitted that she lied about her singing skills, while everyone saw her as a good singer since she is connected to Lisa Marie and the late King of Rock and Roll.

"I think I blacked out on that meeting. I don't really remember what happened," she said. "And then I auditioned like everybody else, and lied to them and told them l could sing."

Keough also revealed that she did not know much about the "Daisy Jones & the Six" story before she auditioned for the role. The series is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's 2019 novel of the same name.

However, she had to read it after her agent called her and informed her she would be Daisy in the show.

Despite that, she received praise from the team.

Riley Keough Reportedly "Transformed" For the Role

Ahead of the release, executive producer Reese Witherspoon and her co-star Sam Claflin spoke highly of her and her transformation into the character.

According to Witherspoon, Keough instantly got into character since she is a quiet and reserved person.

Meanwhile, Claflin commended her skills and capacity of being a good teammate, saying he could not have asked for a better co-star.

"As much as she had that reputation in her family genes, she didn't come with much musical experience herself, so the two of us had each other to lean on in that way," the "Hunger Games" star continued.

Claflin also noted that Keough never carried the pressure although the public's eyes are set on her because she is Elvis Presley's granddaughter and Lisa Marie Presley's daughter.

"Daisy Jones & the Six" released its official trailer before the series officially premieres in March. Whether she would pursue music career after starring in "Daisy Jones & the Six," she told Access Hollywood's Zuri Hall "never say never."
