In a post made to their website this morning, Swedish electronic duo The Knife announced that they would be breaking up in November, at the end of their current tour in support of their 2013 album Shaking The Habitual.

"In the autumn we will round up the Shaking The Habitual Show Tour with a number of European dates," the post said. "We performed it in the US in the spring and now we would love you to join us in our dance for some last shaking moves." This message is followed up with some lyrics from the duo's song "Without You My Life Would Be Boring," signed "See you on the dance floor... /Olof and Karin, The Knife."

Knife member Karin Dreijer clarified the message of this post in an interview with Dazed, saying, "When we finish the tour now in November we will close own, it's our last tour. We don't have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun."

When asked what her plans are following the break up, Dreijer doesn't seem too sure, answering, "When we finish the Knife's last run in mid-November, I will start thinking about what is to come next!"

The Knife, consisting of siblings Karin and Olof Dreijer, formed in Gothernburg, Sweden in 1999 and have released four studio albums: The Knife in 2001, Deep Cuts in 2003, Silent Shout in 2006, and Shaking The Habitual in 2013.
