Adam Levine and Maroon 5 are back in the recording studio, and they're up to something "cool and different."

During his interview with Ryan Seacrest, the Maroon 5 frontman revealed that the band is finally in the works of new music: "We are working on something that is unbelievably cool."

"I'm most excited about this thing than I've been in a long time," he continued, although not really clarifying what type of project they have been working on.

 "It's music. It's definitely music. We're right in the middle of it, but I think it's one of the coolest things we've done and very different."

Maroon 5 consists of Levine, Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, and Sam Farrar; they have been around since the early 1990s and is most known for releasing pop, pop-rock, funk-rock, and dance-pop songs.

 This time around. however, it seems like the band is finally venturing out of their usual genre to try out something new.

As of this writing, there is no official announcements regarding the next release or when it can be expected.

Levine simply noted: "people will be seeing us in a completely different light."

While fans wait for the mysterious release, they can look forward to something less mysterious: Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency.

According to Billboard, the band is gearing up for this highly-anticipated string of shows, which is expected to kick off on Mar. 24 at the Park MGM.

"You got a family, wife and kids, this life that have at home you don't want to it leave too often as life goes on," the singer explained why the Las Vegas residency is so crucial to both his career and home-life.

"So it's nice to go to Vegas, come home, go to Vegas, come home. We live very close to there."

Adam Levine Embraces Fatherhood

The 43-year-old singer and his model wife Behati Prinsloo welcomed their third child in late January.

Now that he is a father of three, Levine explains how it has changed his life drastically, "It's zone defense as they say. It goes from man to man to zone. It's like this and that."

"Here we go. Boom, boom, boom. It's awesome. I love the chaos. I embrace the chaos."

In fact, he has embraced fatherhood so much that he now wants to have a minivan.

"I pushed harder for the minivan," he continued. "I see a minivan as you just bought into a whole new thing. You can make a minivan whatever you want it. It doesn't have to be your mom's Chrysler Town & Country. It can be this spectacular spaceship and fun."

Levine is focusing on his career and family right now, months after news of his alleged affair broke out.

According to reports, an Instagram model accused him of cheating on Prinsloo with her.

He has since acknowledged his affair and apologized for it, and it seems like all is well between Levine and his wife.
