Kelsea Ballerini recently made her "Saturday Night Live" debut and what better way to kick off her performance than by singing some of her most heartbreaking songs inspired by her divorce from Morgan Evans.
According to Billboard, the country musician belted out two of her latest tracks from the EP "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat."
For her first track, the singer sang "Blindsided" which is said to be inspired by her breakup last year. Ballerini didn't fail to deliver the theatrics as the performance featured a silhouette of a dancer who appeared to be trapped.
Donning a zebra print patterned outfit, the Grammy Award-winning artist added a new flair to her song as she sang a completely different verse from what she originally released.
"Now you're singin' it loud on the radio like you're the only heart that breaks/ You would've searched the whole world over? Yeah, sure, OK," the country star sang.
Ballerini returned for a second performance of the evening with the track "Penthouse" where she wore a white gown while expressing her emotions through music.
Last weekend's episode of "SNL" was hosted by Travis Kelce.
The outlet noted that the songs she performed were part of her music project titled "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat" released on Valentine's day. The EP revolves around the story of a crumbling marriage and how she was left devastated by the incident.
Kelsea Ballerini, Drew Taggart Cheating Incident
The recent performance comes a few weeks after reports of the musician cheating on her husband with Drew Taggart made rounds online.
Sources spoke to Page Six to reveal that one of the reasons why Ballerini and Evans separated was because of the former's alleged infidelity.
The issue began when Taggart and the singer worked on the song "This Feeling" and the alleged cheating incident that happened during Lollapalooza 2019.
Even though the issue happened years ago, the country singer was only able to tell her then-husband in 2021, and the revelation reportedly contributed to their marital problems.
Kelsea Ballerini filed for divorce last year after being married for five years. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the primary cause of their split.
Morgan Evans also decided to go public with their issues as he took to Instagram to call out his ex-wife, saying she's not telling what truly happened in their relationship.
