Jane's Addiction's reunion with its founding member, Eric Avery, did not disappoint, as his participation in the band's new song was a blast.

On Sunday, Jane's Addiction dominated Bakersfield, California, and met its fans during its show. But at the end of the night, the band formally debuted its first song in 10 years, "True Love."

Only a few fan-shot videos have since been uploaded online, capturing Perry Farrell's voice in harmony with the band's instruments.

When the singer introduced the new track, he said, (per Rolling Stone), "We want to give you something very special... We're gonna leave you with a brand-new song no one's ever heard, you guys will hear it first."

It follows Jane's Addiction single, "Another Soulmate," which it released a decade ago. Meanwhile, it has still not released an album since "The Great Escape Artist" in 2011.

WBSM cited media reports, saying that Jane's Addiction's new song was written by Avery, Farrell, and Stephen Perkins. Its current touring guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer, also reportedly contributed to it.

Following the release, fans immediately expressed their happiness after hearing them again with its founding member.

One left a comment in one fan-taken video, saying, "Weird, this is surprisingly good! This is the best the band has sounded since the original line-up split. None of the fill in bass players have ever felt right. Actually prefer this Avery / Klinghoffer dynamic. It's more in spirit with the original Janes. Nice to lose the heavy metal element Navarro has grown into.

"Goosebumps. I've been waiting for new Jane's music for over ten years and this didn't disappoint," another wrote, with another adding, "It's nice to hear a Jane's song written around Eric A's bass again."

Jane's Addiction Performing Without Dave Navarro

Although Navarro's absence gave the band a chance to follow Avery's original bass again, some fans remain anxious about the member's condition as he continues to suffer from long COVID.

Navarro's COVID-19 diagnosis has been keeping him away from the spotlight. This led the band to tap the former Red Hot Chili Peppers member to fill in on its following shows on the West Coast, South America, and some of its international shows.

The recent shows served as the first time Jane's Addiction played without Navarro since its debut in 1985. Although the members planned the tour with him, they had to move forward for now as they had no idea how long it would take for him to recuperate.
