Miley Cyrus and Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne have become good buddies in recent months. They even have matching tattoos. But apparently he isn't the only member of the band who is a fan of the Bangerz singer. Guitarist Steven Drozd says that even though the band has received some criticism for associating with the popstar, he thinks the band has been around long enough to do whatever they want.

"I have some friends who give me sh*t about the Miley Cyrus thing. The band has been together for 31 years and if you're expecting us to do everything you want at this point in our career, it's like well f**k you!'" Drozd told Pure Volume. "We should do whatever we want and can do to make things interesting for us, end of story. That's my take on it."

He also said the band is excited to make a record with Cyrus.

"We're going to try to make a record with her if we can work this out because we've gotten together with her a few times in a recording studio and she's f**king badass, man," he said. "She's a total pro and sings like a bird. She's very patient and did take after take and was totally laid back. We were floored with how awesome she was. I'm hoping that we can help her make a record that she wants to make for the next phase of her career. For us, anyone who can't get down with that, I say f**k 'em. I just don't give a sh*t."

Cyrus has already collaborated with The Flaming Lips on a cover of The Beatles "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and on their short film Blonde SuperFreak Steals the Magic Brain.
