"What [you] bumpin' first?" Snoop Dogg asked as he shared a picture of all the Death Row Records catalog that will be returning to streaming platforms.

Back in February 2022, Snoop Dogg pulled out all the Death Row Records catalog from streaming platforms after acquiring the label.

This move left fans frustrated and annoyed because some of the albums in the catalog are considered hip-hop and rap classics like 2Pac's "All Eyez on Me" and Lady of Rage's "Necessary Roughness."

Over a year later, however, it seems like Snoop Dogg and streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music have worked out their differences because all the pulled albums will be available for streaming yet again.

"We heard you. The time has come," wrote the owner of the label on Instagram. Death Row Records catalog is back streaming everywhere tonight 9 pm PST."

Death Row Records Catalog Pulled Out

According to The Root, Snoop Dogg took out all of the Death Row Records catalogs because of royalties.

"First thing I did was snatch all the music off those platforms traditionally known to people because those platforms don't pay," Snoop Dogg reasoned.

"And those platforms get millions and millions and millions of streams and nobody gets paid other than the record labels."

He even suggested that Death Row Records will be putting out an application for fans to stream their music independently.

"So what I wanted to do was snatch my music off, create a platform which is something sort of similar to Amazon, Netflix, Hulu.

"It'll be a Death Row app. And then the music, in the meantime, will live in the metaverse."

While fans might not have seen why this move was beneficial to them, it was simply Snoop Dogg's way of protecting the artists, after all, he himself used to be part of Death Row Records as a signed artist before he came to own it.

"I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value," the rapper said after acquiring Death Row Records.

"It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me."
