Chris Janson Will Be Opening for Merle Haggard Next Week

Next week, Chris Janson will join the legendary Merle Haggard for two sold-out shows at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium as his opening act. Janson was recently named one of the "Top 10 Artist You Need To Know" by Rolling Stone Country. He's also gotten kudos from Billboard Magazine who named him part of "The New Wave of Country Music" and from The Boston Globe, who listed him as an "Artist Worth Your Attention."

In a press release, Chris talked about how huge it is for him to open for Haggard, saying, "It's an incredible honor to play on this show and I'm humbled. It's hard to even find words to describe...this is a career milestone for me and I'm beyond grateful. It's just a few shorts steps from the back door of Tootsie's where I had my first gig and a lot of hard work later to make it to the Ryman with Merle. A dream come true!"

Janson will join Merle at the Ryman on Monday, August 25 and Tuesday, August 26. He also has 12 shows (without the Hag) scheduled between now and the end of next month...
