Demi Lovato will release a rock rendition of their popular song "Heart Attack." 

"Heart Attack" Rock Version Dropping

The 30-year-old artist eschewed pop for rock on their most recent album, 'HOLY FVCK,' and they are now preparing to release a new rendition of the 2013 hit from their fourth album "Demi" in the same vein. On Friday, the heavier version will be accessible to listeners. That's March 24.

Alongside a clip of the original song transformed into the rock version, Demi tweeted, "Heart Attack, but make it Rock.

Demi, who uses both they/them and she/her pronouns, confirmed in December that they were back in the studio just three months after the release of their album. Prior to the release of their record, Demi noted that Hayley Williams remains their "dream collaborator."

Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson, and Hayley's band, Paramore, influenced the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer's decision to change their sound and career trajectory.

And while addressing the harsher approach of their album, Demi stated that they would still very much like to perform a duet with the lead singer of "Misery Business." In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the artist stated that Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" was a major influence on the direction she wanted to take with her music."

Demi Lovato Details Music Inspirations

It was a wonderful album. And they witnessed her transition from R&B soul pop to pop rock as an artist, which made her think that that is exactly what they wanted to accomplish.

They added that Ashlee Simpson's "LaLa," is also something she wanted to do  They then became inspired and discovered bands such as, Paramore and Flyleaf.

She shared that Hayley and her want far back. She met her at age 15 and the artist seemed to be the type of person who would be rooting for her in those situations. While she did not get to know her very well, she is one of their greatest vocal influences. 

Lovato Directing a 'Child Star' Documentary

At the same time, Demi Lovato is assuming the role of director. According to a press release, the singer, songwriter, and actor will make their directorial debut with the feature-length documentary "Child Star" (working title), which aims to "deconstruct the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world's most famous former child stars, including Lovato."

Lovato and Nicola Marsh ("Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story," "Song Exploder") will co-direct the film. Among the producers are Michael D. Ratner's OBB Pictures, Demi Lovato's DLG, and Scooter Braun's SB Projects. The three businesses have already collaborated on the critically acclaimed docuseries "Dancing With the Devil," which aired at SXSW in 2021. "Dancing With the Devil" offered a deep look at Lovato's personal life and drug difficulties, including their near-fatal overdose in 2018.
