Was Kurt Cobain murdered?

According to a new revelation made by an investigative journalist and award-winning filmmaker, the Nirvana frontman did not commit suicide.

Ian Halperin feels that, some three decades after Kurt Cobain's murder, his wife Courtney Love should take a polygraph test to address certain issues.

Ian makes a "convincing argument" in his new book "Case Closed: The Cobain Murder: The Killing And Cover Up of Kurt Cobain" that the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" rock singer did not commit suicide.

According to The Sun, the author, who has been investigating Kurt Cobain's suicide since the mid-1990s, has unearthed new proof indicating he was killed instead; however, he does not accuse the artist's widow or anyone else of the murder.

Ian also feels that a lie detector test would help clear Courtney's reputation after years of mistrust and inquiries about what happened to him from certain staunch Kurt and Nirvana fans.

Kurt, a drug addict, was discovered dead in a greenhouse area above his Seattle home's attached garage on April 8, 1994.

He was spotted grasping the shotgun that killed him, the round passing through his mouth and striking his head.

Kurt's death was ruled a suicide by the coroner and the Seattle Police Department at the time. Despite obvious contradictions in the information offered at the time, rumors that Courtney played a part in his death proliferated.

'New Evidence' That Kurt Cobain Was Murdered

Ian Halperin told The Sun that the police "got it wrong a thousand percent" and that the verdict should be altered from "suicide" to "murder."

He further stated that if Courtney Love passes the polygraph, he will buy a billboard in Times Square that reads, "Courtney Love is innocent."

The writer further explained, "And I still encourage her as a grieving widow to get on the trail and to find the killers. I am not going to stop until I find the killers.

"I'm saying, look, her role is certainly suspicious based on the plethora of evidence that I outline in the new book."

Ian also stated that he would pay for Courtney's polygraph so that they could hire the "world's leading polygraph examiner."

Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain Almost Divorced

Due to drug addiction, conflicts, and jealousy, Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain reportedly struggled to keep their marriage together.

Author Michael DeWitt said in another book that Kurt asked his lawyer to prepare for divorce and that he and Courtney had a prenuptial agreement.

"He had talked to a divorce lawyer and he had left her. If they would've got divorced, she wouldn't have got a penny."

The author claimed that Courtney had the motive to kill Kurt.
