On exhibit was a collection of Lorraine Schwartz jewels that spans her decades-long career creating some of the most iconic jewelry pieces in the world. 'A Journey Through Gems' is the first dedicated luxury jewelry private sale from Joopiter and was inspired by Pharrell and legendary jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz's longstanding friendship. Schwartz stated that she was fortunate enough to meet Pharrell more than two decades ago, and they have an established an incredible friendship based on a shared appreciation for the world's most exquisite and rare gems.
The sparkling event is not only a collection of the most exquisite bespoke high jewelry currently available, but also the narrative of our journey and relationship as told through gems.
Schwartz, a New York-based diamond dealer of the third generation, is responsible for some of the most extraordinary diamond jewelry moments of a generation. She has designed jewelry for, among others, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively, and Angelina Jolie.
A Journey Through Gems features a large selection of dozens of Schwartz's pieces, the majority of which are one-of-a-kind, as well as an assortment of extremely uncommon loose diamonds and fancy-colored diamonds. Many of the pieces have historical and cultural provenance and have been donned by A-list celebrities in recent years.
Beyonce's 60-carat diamond drop earrings from her recent internet-breaking performance in Dubai are included, as are Taylor Swift's 136-carat, 4-panel diamond shape earrings with purple sapphire, Paraiba, and diamonds that she wore to this year's Grammys. On their own, Taylor Swift's earrings are anticipated to garner $3 Million. Among the loose diamonds is a 50-carat D Flawless Type IIa heart-shaped natural diamond.
The sale of stray diamonds includes the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with Schwartz to design a custom piece of jewelry featuring the diamonds. A select number of lots, including a legendary 26-carat Asscher-cut canary yellow diamond ring and numerous pieces of Pharrell's personal Schwartz jewelry, were co-designed by Pharrell.
