Shakira, Gerard Pique Drama: Singer Has One MAJOR Plea From the Public to Protect Her Kids

Shakira recently made a big move by relocating from Barcelona to Miami amid her drama with her ex-husband Gerard Pique. Despite all the issues happening between her and her former partner, it appears that her number one priority is her children as she has one major plea from the public.

According to E! News, the musician shared a statement online, asking the public to give her and her children some privacy as they embark on a new beginning in the United States.

She began her tweet by acknowledging her fame, saying she is a public figure and the change in her current life drives a "permanent curiosity" on behalf of the press around her and her family.

However, she wanted to protect her children as Milan and Sasha suffered "incessant harassment and persecution without relief by the paparazzi and several media outlets" back in their home country of Spain.

Shakira Asks the Press to Give Her Children Some Privacy

Later on, the musician said she wanted to "implore the media" on behalf of her two kids and begs the press from following them at their school, wait for them at their home, or even follow them whenever they do certain activities, because these are the things the paparazzi did in Barcelona.

"I trust that the journalists and photographers here will be sensitive to the situation that Milan and Sasha are facing and can behave in the most humane way possible with them," she added.

The Latin superstar wanted the public to know that the reason why she's pleading for privacy is that her two children, who are aged 8 and 10, wanted to feel safe whenever they go out in public and go to school without being followed by the paparazzi.

Shakira concluded her post by saying she's extending the petition not as an artist, but as a mother who just wanted to protect the psychological and emotional well-being of her kids so they to have a normal and healthy life.

Shakira Moves to Miami: Gerard Pique Furious?

The recent news comes after Shakira and her two children moved to Miami amid her issue with Gerard Pique.

The football superstar was reportedly furious about the significant move as he was only given "days' notice" by the Colombian superstar. (via Mirror UK)

After Shakira and Pique's lawyers spoke to each other about their plans on relocating to the United States, the ex-couple spoke through a phone call which drove the athlete mad as he didn't know about the plan.
