Taylor Swift is one of the biggest and hottest artists of this generation, but apparently, that doesn't always work in her favor; in fact, it might even become a deal-breaker for people around her.

As per an exclusive report by People magazine, Swift and Joe Alwyn both reached their own breaking points a couple of weeks back, which resulted in a breakup.

"They've had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together," a source told the magazine.

Troubles

Despite all the love songs dedicated to the English actor, the couple had hit several rough patches in their relationship-which were references in the singer's music from time to time.

In fact, here are a few songs that allude to their relationship being every bit as normal and regular like everyone else's is.

Swift's 2019 album, "Lover," included a very telling song entitled "Afterglow" and in her most recent release, "Midnights," Swift sang about a big fight that they overcame in "The Great War."

"I blew things out of proportion, now you're blue/ Put you in jail for/ something you didn't do/ I pinned your hands behind your back, oh/ Thought I had reason to attack, but no," the singer sang in the opening verse of "Afterglow."

"The Great War" also alludes to problems in their relationship that stems from Swift's personal issues that have been brought about by past failed relationships.

"You drew up some good faith treaties/ I drew curtains closed, drank my poison all alone/ You said I have to trust more freely/ But diesel is desire, you were playin' with fire/ And maybe it's the past that's talkin'/ Screamin' from the crypt/ Tellin' me to punish you for things you never did/ So I justified it."

'Differences'

The source confirmed that Swift and Alwyn's relationship was far from a walk in the park, and that he didn't truly get to "know" her despite being together for six years.

"They had plenty in common and fell in love in a safe bubble while she was retreating from the world during 'Reputation'," the source added.

"Then the pandemic hit, and they were locked down together and able to continue growing their relationship in this insulated way. But he didn't really 'know' her yet outside of that bubble."

According to reports, their split was amicable and it was because of their different personalities. "They've grown apart."
