Granger Smith will be leaving his country music career to pursue something more important for him and his family: ministry; is he still going to perform this year?

Taking to his official Facebook account, the "That's Why I Love Dirt Road" hitmaker shared a video announcement, saying he felt a "strong desire to pursue ministry."

He clarified that he's not going to start a church or a crusade, but rather, he and his family will be serving their local church.

"We're going to pour into that church as members, and have my pastors and elders pour into me and disciple me and teach me as I sit under their wise teaching," he explained. (via The Music Universe)

In addition to his family pursuing ministry, he is also attending a seminary called Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to take his master's degree which "takes a ton of time."

"This summer will be my last tour. I am so encouraged and hopeful and excited and joyful about the next chapter, but to a large extent, I have no idea what it will look like," he wrote.
