Demi Lovato has entered a new era of her music career as she previously "buried" her pop roots to create rock songs which is very apparent on her latest album, "HOLY FVCK."

More recently, it appears that the "Camp Rock" actress has no idea what to do on her next record as she's going through a significant phase in her life; what could this be?

In a recent interview with CBS News, the musician, whose real name is Demetria Devonne Lovato, said she grew up listening to emo music and she wanted to go back to her roots.

Even though emo music has been mostly associated with a sad feeling, the singer explained that whether the public is going through "depression or having fun with your friends," the said genre contains a lot of emotions that's why Gen Z's are attracted to it.

Demi Lovato Clueless About Her Next Album

In a previous song titled "Dancing with the Devil," Lovato shared her vulnerability to listeners as the track was about her near-death experience after a drug overdose in 2018. She was only 25 years old at the time.

Through the years, the "Princess Protection Program" star has since transformed her life through music, and she admits that she's in a good place at the moment.

However, since most of her songs revolve around the topic of sadness and angst, the pop star-turned-rocker is now clueless about her move for her next album.

"I don't know what I'm gonna write about on my next album because I'm so happy... It is a really good feeling. But I don't know what I'm gonna do," she added.

Demi Lovato Updates

Demi Lovato's eighth studio album, "HOLY FVCK," was released last year, but she's not done releasing more songs as she recently dropped "Still Alive" which is a part of the official soundtrack of "Scream VI".

Last month, the singer surprised fans by re-releasing her hit 2013 song "Heart Attack" as it's now in rock form, contrary to its original pop sound.

The original song appeared on her album "DEMI." It amassed massive success from fans as it peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs.
