Willie Nelson is not letting his age affect his desire to continue performing.

Since 1956, Nelson has been performing on countless stages and releasing hit albums and music. Now 89, the singer also started dealing with queries regarding his potential retirement.

Nearly seven decades since he started his career, the country crooner plans to stay in the spotlight as long as he can.

Willie Nelson Says He Will Still Work on His 90th Birthday

In an interview with AARP, Nelson was asked why he wanted to have a show on his 90th birthday instead of taking a day off. He will mark his special day at the Hollywood Bowl, a two-day event on April 29 and 30.

"Working is really good for me, no matter what kind of show it is. The fact that I'll be there for two days with a lot of my good friends coming out and saying hello and singing with me makes it a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it," he said.

Nelson will perform alongside several musicians, including Miranda Lambert, Tom Jones, Snoop Dogg, Norah James, Chris Stapleton, Ziggy Marley, and Margo Price, to name a few.

Nelson also mentioned that his age is just a number. In fact, his friend Norman Lear recently turned 100.

Aside from his tour, the singer-songwriter also worked on his new album, "I Don't Know a Thing About Love." He also attended the Grammys and received his Best County Album award for "A Beautiful Time" and Best Country Solo Performance for "Live Forever."

Willie Nelson Shares Thoughts About Retirement

With decades-old of career, talks about his potential retirement have been surrounding him for years. When asked whether he ever considered retiring from touring, Nelson jokingly said that he retires after every tour.

Still, he reportedly finds himself ready to go back again.

Nelson will add another year to his life, but his voice remains the same as it was when he started his career. He then shared how he keeps his voice in shape, telling the interviewer that his decision to continue singing and performing brings a positive effect to his voice.

He added that one can lose it if they do not use it, referring to the singing voice.

The country singer will offer more once he starts his Outlaw Music Festival Tour in June.
