If you are hanging out on the internet in the past few days, you would have stumbled or come across the news of a One Direction reunion at the finale episode of "The Late Late Show with James Corden." While we badly want that to happen, the show has already confirmed that it would not.

However, that doesn't mean that a former One Direction member would not be appearing at the finale.

Harry Styles on 'The Late Late Show with James Corden'

According to the show's official Twitter account, Harry Styles will be appearing on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" on the show's closing episode.

Corden and Styles have been good friends. Styles has even appeared on the show multiple times, either as a guest, a performer, and even a host. Corden and he even had a Carpool Karaoke, just him, and one with the boys seven years ago.

Notably last year, Corden and Styles teamed up for the latter's "Daylight" music video. With a budget of $300, the duo toured Brooklyn to shoot a do-it-yourself music video, which coincidentally, they rang up a Directioner's flat.

In the recent announcement that the team has posted, they announced Harry Styles as a guest along with "Barbie" star Will Ferrell for "The Last Late Late Show with James Corden" on Apr. 27, 2023.

One Direction on 'The Late Late Show with James Corden'

When the news about James Corden's finale episode, rumors that the show staging a One Direction reunion came about. It was an attempt to reunite one of the world's biggest boy bands again after Zayn Malik left the band in 2015 and the band took an indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Mirror UK reported that a One Direction reunion will take place on the finale episode of the show. However, when the theory and the news went wild, "The Late Late Show with James Corden" gunned down the rumor, saying it was a "false alarm."

"Nobody loves the boys more than us ... but this story just isn't true," they clarified.

All five of them have gone on their respective solo careers. Harry Styles seemed to be the biggest one among all of them. Niall Horan is now a "The Voice" coach, while Louis Tomlinson released his latest album and has been touring the world. Malik has resurfaced on social media again after being involved in a spat with Gigi Hadid and her mother, Yolanda. Meanwhile, Liam Payne is trying to get the fandom's sympathy back after revealing the band's dirty laundry in a now-infamous interview.
