The KPOP community was rocked yet again with devastating and heartbreaking news when Fantagio Group took to social media to announce the sudden death of one of its artists, Moonbin.

"First and foremost, we would like to express our apology for delivering deeply sad and heartbreaking news," read the label's statement. "On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."

According to reports, Moonbin was found by his manager in his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul; the authorities were called to the scene.

As of this writing, the KPOP idol's specific cause of death is unknown, but South Gangnam police suspect he might have taken his life.

"It appears that Moonbin took his own life," a spokesperson said. "We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death."

Furthermore, Fantagio Group asked fans and the public "to please refrain from speculative or malicious reports."

Moonbin

Moonbin was born in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province; and he has a younger sister who is also a KPOP idol, Moon Sua.

He was a member of the KPOP boy group, Astro, alongside Cha Eun Woo, Yoon San Ha, MJ, Rocky, and the group's leader Jinjin. They debuted in 2016 and just renewed their contracts earlier this year-sans Rocky.

Aside from being a KPOP idol, Moonbin actually got his first taste in the entertainment industry as a model and actor. He first appeared in the public eye as a child model in 2004.

After which, he appeared in a TVXQ music video for their song "Balloons" in 2006, and made his official acting debut in 2009 in the hit Korean drama series, "Boys Over Flowers," reports say.

In 2019, he starred in another Korean drama series titled "At Eighteen," and once again in 2020 for the second season of "The Mermaid Prince."

The news of Moonbin's sudden death shocked and devastated fans. They simply could not believe that the artist they love so dearly has passed away, and they offered prayers and paid tributes to the KPOP idol on social media.

"To whoever you are reading this, let's stay alive for a long time. Someday, the best life will welcome you with pleasure. Also, please be kind. Sending my deepest condolences to Aroha and to his family and friends. Rest in love, Moonbin," a KPOP fan wrote.

"I am completely taken aback right now. Moonbin and the word 'dead' in one sentence- I refuse to believe it. I just hope he knew he was and is loved by so many. my condolences to his family (especially Sua), Astro, and any other fan out there hurting like I'm hurting. Rip angel," another added.
