Accept's Phil Shouse collapsed before the band's performance in Santiago, Chile.
The band confirmed it would push through with its Sunday concert in Santiago, Chile, even after Shouse. The guitarist reportedly suffered health issues while on a plane en route to Chile from Lima, Peru.
What Happened to Accept Guitarist Philip Shouse?
On Instagram, Accept confirmed that it would still perform in Santiago, Chile, on Sunday night after its guitarist collapsed on a plane. The band disclosed that the health scare occurred prior to take-off due to "food poisoning and dehydration."
"He is on IV drips and will take a few days to rest before joining the Metal Masters again. We wish him the speediest of recoveries and look forward to him joining us the second he feels healthy!!" the update revealed.

The plane was carrying the members of Kreator, Testament, and Accept ahead of the bands' appearance at the Metal Fests in Latin America.
Accept has since sent fast recovery wishes to Shouse as it assured fans that the guitarist would join them as soon as he feels healthy again.
How Philip Shouse Ended Up Joining Accept
Accept's current lineup includes Shouse, frontman Mark Tornillo, Wolf Hoffman, Uwe Lulis, Martin Motnik, and Christopher Williams.
Starting its latest album, "Too Mean To Die," in 2021, Accept decided to have a three-guitar lineup. In an interview with The Aquarian, Tornillo revealed that they came up with the idea of being a six-piece amid the band's Symphony Tour.
The frontman recalled how Shouse and Hoffman shared a great rapport on stage. After their tour came to an end, the other guitarist told Tornillo that, instead of firing Lulis, they would be a six-pirce instead.
Accept initially promoted under the name Band X during the 1960s. It has since witnessed several musicians come and go in the lineup, and those happened in between the band's breakup and reformation several times.
Despite that, Accept has been able to release several hit albums in the past decades, including "I'm a Rebel," "Restless and Wild," "Balls to the Wall," Eat the Heat," "Death Row," "Blood of the Nations," "Blind Rage," and "The Rise of Chaos."
Accept also made tracks for other media, including the film "Demoni" and the video game "Brutal Legend."
