Last night (Aug. 24), Usher finally confirmed his eighth studio album is on its way and called UR. And it was a big night for the "Good Kisser" singer... after his big announcement and a (forgettable) performance of "She Came To Give It To You" with Nicki Minaj, Usher dropped another new single "Believe Me."

Though Usher's first three UR tracks have been relatively lukewarm, "Believe Me" is a sizzling, crawling R&B jam.

The song kicks off with an extended electronic horn intro, bouncing between just a few notes to set the mood for this Mike Will Made It produced ballad. When Usher comes into the song, however, he does it with a powerful vocal blast and his sweet, signature falsetto.

"Nobody loves me like you do / And that's just not something I'm used to / So I always push you away / Even though I only want you to stay," Usher sings earnestly in the song's opening verse.

Usher explores being a bad boyfriend/fiancé/husband/man in "Believe Me," and croons that even though he may not always be the best guy for you, his inaction and fear of commitment it breaks his heart. We're getting a bit of mixed signals because, like, dude you can just change your behavior to make everyone a little happier, but the song itself is smooth as silk, so we can't really complain.

"Believe Me" can work in the club, in the bedroom and even on the treadmill. Seems like Usher is back to making solid, strong R&B for the masses.
