Last night's "America's Got Talent" results show featured a performance from boy band veterans the Backstreet Boys. Following a Twitter campaign by fans, the masters of the comeback performed abridged versions of their new single "In A World Like This" and their smash 1999 hit "I Want It That Way."

Wearing all black outfits, the five-piece sang the first verse and chorus of "In A World Like This." As usual with the lead single from their new album of the same name, Brian Littrell was the standout performer, blasting through his solo and reaching unbelievable high notes during the chorus.

Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson's solos were cut out in this arrangement, but Carter got his time to shine during the "I Want It That Way" portion. Though the youngest Backstreet Boy sounded a little off his game, with flat notes and a slight warble in his voice, he danced around the stage with his four bandmates with great passion, proving that after 20 years in the game, BSB know how to handle small missteps.

In the end, the "I Want It That Way" performance was nowhere near BSB's best, but the melodies came through in the chorus, and the audience and judges sang and clapped along with the hit.

Watch Backstreet Boys perform "In A World Like This" and "I Want It That Way" on the Aug. 14 episode of "America's Got Talent" below.

Speaking of the impassioned performance and Backstreet Boys' sweet dance moves, yesterday Nick Carter took to his Twitter for some light jabbing at new boy bands The Wanted and One Direction.

"I got an idea. @onedirection and @thewanted come to @backstreetboys new show and well show you how it's done :p," he wrote to his nearly 400,000 followers. "Yes I'm bored and wanted to start some shizzle lol. But for real. Lets dance!"

One Direction and The Wanted followed in the steps of Backstreet Boys in having massive success as a five-piece boy band, but unlike their '90s equivalents, neither of the modern boy bands dance in their live show.
