The Notorious B.I.G. has been deceased for more than two decades now, but his legacy continues to inspire famous and even up-and-coming rappers in the music industry.

Despite him being gone, it appears that he has a new song released online, or is it really his voice?

According to Hip Hop DX, an AI-generated cover of Nas' song "N.Y. State of Mind" has been circulating all over social media featuring the late rapper's voice.

The track, which was posted on TikTok, has already garnered more than 300,000 views at the time of this writing.

Not everyone on social media agrees with the use of artificial intelligence to generate the Notorious B.I.G.'s voice as one fan pointed out, "we are witnessing the beginning of the end times with this ai ****."

As of this writing, the late rapper's estate has yet to comment on the viral AI music.

AI Music Taking Over the Music Industry

The recent viral song comes after the vast spread of AI-produced tracks in the music industry, especially in the Hip-Hop genre.

A song titled "Heart on My Sleeve" took over the internet by storm as many fans were shocked to hear Drake and The Weeknd collaborate.

It turns out, their voices were completely generated by technology. A TikTok user by the moniker "Ghostwriter" was the person behind the song.

In addition to social media, it was also uploaded on music streaming platforms and was able to garner a whopping 1,423,000 streams in the United States alone and 2,125,000 globally.

"Heart On My Sleeve" was immediately taken down by streaming platforms a few days after its release.

According to CNN Business, the Universal Music Group later issued a statement, saying that the song violated copyright law, adding that their company has a moral and commercial responsibility to the artists signed under them to prevent the "unauthorized use of their music and to stop platforms from ingesting content that violates the rights of artists and other creators."
