Rage Against the Machine marked its inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2023 with a heartfelt message.

The Rock Hall officially named the 13 inductees who made it into the 2023 class on Wednesday. Rage Against the Machine, on the other hand, is the only rock band that will be finally inducted under the performer category.

Rage Against the Machine marked the milestone in its career with a heartfelt Instagram post soon after the induction announcement. On Instagram, the rockers called the feat a "surprising trajectory" for the members since the band's formation in 1991.

It noted in the statement that the band became well-known for its albums that offer fierce opposition to white supremacy, exploitation, the US war machine, and others. It also proudly recalled how Rage Against the Machine shut down the NY Stock Exchange because of its music.

The band also described itself as the band that was targeted by police organizations after speaking up for political prisoners and the one that sued the US State Department over the use of its music to torture innocent individuals in Guantanamo Bay.

Rage Against the Machine introduced itself as a band that had songs that dominated several charts and topped the lists, adding that it created its own genre by fusing hip-hop, rock, and punk.

"Many thanks to the Hall of Fame for recognizing the music and the mission of Rage Against the Machine," the four members said. "We are grateful to all of the passionate fans, the man talented co-conspirators we've worked with and all the activists, organizers, rebels and revolutionaries past, present and future who have inspired our art."

Rage Against the Machine joined the seven musicians who made it into the performer category in the 38th annual inductees and the 13 total inductees on the list.

The others whose names appeared on the list include The Spinners, Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, and George Michael.

Meanwhile, DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray secured the two spots on the Musical Influence Award.

Chaka Khan, Al Kooper, and Bernie Taupin will receive the musical excellence award, while Don Cornelius will get the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will officially honor the inductees during its induction ceremony on Nov. 3 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
