Ace Frehley and Scot Coogan marked their reunion five years after the former KISS guitarist continued touring with other band members.

Frehley started pursuing a career with other band members since he left KISS. He also held tours with several musicians, including Richie Scarlet, Chris Wyse, and Coogan.

But in 2018, he parted ways with his drummer and informed him he would be relieved from his duties to move on with Gene's cover band.

Ace Frehley, Scot Coogan Reunited Again

Fans recently shared videos taken from Frehley's April 29 show at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts in Jamestown, New York. They were hyped after they spotted the veteran session drummer playing the instrument and sharing the same stage with the guitarist again.

Scot marked his reunion with Frehley with a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, wherein the duo can be seen in one frame as they play songs together for the first time in five years.

The drummer also wrote, "And ... This Happened ..."

Meanwhile, Frehley also re-introduced him to the crowd before the Jamestown show, saying, "I don't know if anybody noticed, but I got my old drummer back, Scoty Coogan. He played with me for 10 years; then we parted company."

He noted that the weekend show marked their first show since 2018.

Why Did Ace Frehley Leave His Backing Band?

Prior to the reunion, Frehley spoke to "Jim and Sam" in 2018 and opened up about his decision to part ways with Coogan, Scarlet, and Wyse. He replaced them with Gene Simmons' backing band Jeremy Abstrock, Ryan Cook, Philip Shouse, and Matt Starr.

According to the drummer, the split was not a big deal with Wyse since the musician had also been working with the Hollywood Vampires and Joe Perry for his solo shows. He then called him the "most sought-out bass player in Los Angeles."

Meanwhile, Coogan did not take the decision too well. He recalled telling the drummer about the decision, and Coogan reportedly told him that he was losing a rock star.

Among the trio, Frehley found it the hardest to fire Scarlet since the band member just lost his wife, Joann, who died at that time. He revealed that it took him a week to gain the guts to call him and finally tell him about his decision.
